Just finished reading my last posting and the sweet realization has dawned upon me that a lot has changed and happened since I wrote last time. And for the better I must say!

Don’t we all love this feeling of achievement and contentment?

Since last six months I have become a firm believer in the quote ‘Success is yours the minute you decide that you want it’, whoever wrote this must have tasted success for sure!

When we started our Design Studio, we were very clear on our collective dream of making a difference to Design Scene in Hyderabad. We were slowly working on this dream a month back and suddenly out of the blue we came across a similarly motivated company with similar goals and aspirations. We had to pinch each other to make ourselves believe that it was not a dream but a reality that we had actually found our missing fourth Partner!!!

Year 2009 has been one of the most fulfilling years… as my dream along with my friends of having our own Design studio finally came true.

It all started way back in 2006, with all of us sharing our similar dreams and aspirations of making a difference through design and awareness. Once we all were on the same platform there was no looking back… mails started flying each day with new ideas and scenarios. But there was still a small hiccup; we had a lot of physical distance between Us!!

It took us two more years and exchange of more than 300 mails and plenty phone calls to relocate to Hyderabad and realize our dreams. The excitement was over the top and enthusiasm at its best. Back then the most important task before us was naming our Design Studio… and we ourselves were fascinated with all the names that we came up with like – SWITCH 2 DESIGN, UTOPIA, FOOTPRINT, ABSOLUTE DESIGN, DESIGASM… but in the end good sense prevailed and we stopped at ‘17dnorth’ – geographical location of Hyderabad, the most apt name for a Design Firm.

After the initial naming ceremony was over, we slowly got down to defining our strategy, our vision + mission, our values and our expertise. But as one says that Life is full of surprises, I was no immune to it… in March 2009 we all got a shock when one of our friends decided to opt out of our venture due to personal reasons.

This was a good lesson for all of us, and we started preparing for the ups and downs that we would have to tackle with smiling faces and enthusiasm. With this lesson firmly embedded in our mind and heart, we started building on our strengths and expertise day by day.

After a good experience of working on a few projects last year, I think we as a Firm have evolved for better and I am sure we are going to deliver much more in this year 2010.

With the launch of our Website last month, I think we are on the right path and equally excited to create good design and make a difference!
